I am trying to find a gaming monitor for a good friend. I would like a 24 inch.

I been looking for an hour and my brain is getting burnt out. I have these in my cart on newegg but still look. Other opinions would be great. He plays WOW a lot so i want good colors and fast response time.

SAMSUNG 2443BWT Black 24" 5ms ---- 389.00

ask him if he is willing to spend more for slightly better colors and better viewing angles before buying.

i didnt sell out my old school 19 inch square TFT till it died after 3 years of solid use, now im very glad i converted to the new era

Pretty much, all TN panels are going to look basically the same. Despite the minor number differences on paper, they're all going to have relatively the same colors\viewing angle. I assume BossBorot's question about spending more money was to see if you could get something other than a TN panel.

John,

Yes, that was my thinking with the NEC Newegg URL above. That one is either a PVA, MVA or IPS panel. Don't know which one for sure.

I like my DELL ULTRASHARP 2408WFP . But I don't think Dell sell's those anymore. But others do. http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&source=hp&q=2408wfp&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wf
They have these instead. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-8277

ODB,

Yes, I looked at those Dells yesterday, they claim they are IPS panels, not cheap but you get what you pay for. I think your 2408WFP has been discontinued. Too bad, it's a nice monitor.
