I'll be building an 1Gig NF7 dual channel rig shortly and was wondering which XMS 3200 is worth the money,

the
CMX512-3200C2, 2-3-3-6-T1
or the
CMX512-3200LL, 2-2-2-6-T1 (~$30 more than the C2)

I want to at least run with a final FSB of 400Mhz (watercooled Barton 2500) with mem at same speed, anything over that I'll take what I can get.

Aren't the TWINX1024-3200LL modules the same modules as the CMX 3200LL modules?? What are you paying for other than Corsair popping them into a mobo and testing them? Aren't the SPD programmed the same?

Thanks in advance!

The cmx3200LL chips are 5ns chips which are the same as 3500c2 chips.

I believe the benefit for buying twinx is for dual channel motherboards... corsair claims that twinx modules are "twins" so you dont have to figure out which 2 modules to buy if you were to buy seperatly... hope that helps :\

If your goal is just 400MHZ, then most likely you will be able to run tight timings with the 3200c2 by upping the voltage. That is what I'd probably get to save the money.

The twinX sticks are the same as the 3200LL sticks. All you are paying for is the guarentee that they "play well" together.

Also, I will add that cheaper memory like Twinmoss will meet your needs too.
