Which cpu cooler for r9700?

Hi everyone,

I just got the heatsink and shim off my bba r9700, I want to upgrade it with a cpu air cooler now, and then shortly with h2o.

I don't have any extra hsf laying around so I need to purchase a cooler, I do have a 60mm stock AMD xp fan I can use though.

I plan on drilling the heatsink and taping it to 1/4 inch for mounting. I'm also planning on using a+b epoxy made level with glass in place of a shim, just for peace of mind. (The stock shim is too thick to get contact) Do I need to add springs to this set up?

I may add this hsf to my Dad's computer, a 2500+ barton with stock cooler, when I go to water.

Budget is ~$20 US, but I am awfull at sticking to budgets so all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!!!

One more thing, how heavy is too heavy for this application?
