OK. SO i have been using the same 17" monitor since I was in 5th grade (freshman in college now) and I am ready to get new ones. I am going to get two of the same monitor any way I go.

They need to be at least 19" and CRTs.

I have been looking at the Dell 19" P991. You can get them for about $120 a piece on ebay and these are the stats

Plug-and-Play: PC or MAC-Ready
CRT: 19" (18.0" viewable image size)
Aperture Grille Pitch: 0.24 mm Aperture Grille pitch (minimum)
Resolution: 1600 x 1200 at 85 Hz
Screen Treatment: High contrast AR coating
Power Requirements: 90-264V AC; 50-60Hz
Design: Space-Saving, Short-Neck
User Controls: On Screen

High refresh rates
640x480 60-180 Hz
800x600 60-150 Hz
1024x768 60-120 Hz
1280x1024 60-95 Hz
1880x 1400 60-85Hz
2048 x 1536 Max

I will probably end up running 1280x1024 on both of the monitors (still running ti4200). Do you all think this would be a good buy? I am not worried about space, not worried about weight, or anything like that. I just want something bigger than 17 to replace my current one with, and I do not want to go LCD.

Thanks for the help.

That monitor looks pretty good, but I wouldn't trust Dell any day. They're a bunch of lying thieves. Make sure you really research that monitor before buying it.

my dad buys dell computers, has had 3 already, and i have had 1, and then my brother had a laptop. they have all been very stable computers, and dells service is fantastic. i have no beef with dell.

i trust their monitors also, seeing as how this one has lasted so long with no problems, really means something. my brother bought a 21" CRT dell on ebay, and has had a lot of luck with it.
