That fan won't fit...you need a 120x25mm fan.

oops, I was just browsing around the fan page, guess I pasted the wrong one.

A forum member by the name of Navig did extensive testing that suggested the stock fan was better due to having 9 blades.

The fan in the link spins slower (1800rpm) and it uses a sleeve bearing so I don't know if it'll be better. The stock goes up to 2000rpm which is fairly fast. As far as the more fins the better, IDK. All I know is what I read in the test which showed the stock fan doing better than 7 blade fans.

I'm presently doing some testing of the TT-120 with the fan you linked to, rocco, on my E6600 rig. Even though I just installed the TT-120 today, it is doing a good job with the Scythe fan. I presently have the stock fan running on an Ultra 120 doing some testing on my Opty system, which I just pulled the TT-120 off of this morning.

As far as fan noise goes, the stock Tuniq Tower fan isn't much noisier than the Scythe you linked to. And the stock fan has a variable speed controller that mounts on the back of your system in a slot cover. If you don't already have the Scythe fan it's not worth buying one to replace the stock fan with, IMO. Both are pretty quiet.

the Scythe fan has much better bearings last longer quieter!
the other fans because of their bearings they will only get louder!

yes, let me know how your testing went!

Though I don't like TT much as a company, and their fan specs are not to be trusted at all, their SmartFan II is 120x25mm and moves more than most fans that size.

rocco, there is no real need to buy another fan for the TT-120, at least for now. The stock fan that comes with it should do you fine. Maybe it will go bad on you in the future but it's a good choice for the TT, since it comes with a fan controller so that you can vary the speed to suit your silencing needs versus cooling needs. Even at full power it's not real noisy and I also tested it at 1350 rpm on the Opty system and it only got around 3-4 C higher than at 2000 rpm's. It looks to me like the TT-120 isn't ultra sensitive to airflow or static air pressure for it to do a good job.

Right now on my E6600 system, temps are running around 40-44 C with 2 folding clients running and with the 1800 rpm Scythe fan mounted in it, according to Core Temp. That's around 7-10 C cooler than it was running with my XP90-C and high speed Delta 3 blade I had mounted on it before.

This is an old thread but wonder if anyone uses other fans for their TUNIQ TOWER that yield better temps than the stock fan? My temps are a little high and think about switching to a different one but not sure which one. I have the antec 180B and I tried the fan that comes with the case at high speed and it is worse than the stock one.
