first question, GF 4 Ti4400 or 4600? and y. Is the 4600 really worth the extra $100. Seem there are more then 1 company that uses the GF chipset, who do i go with and y. My first GF card was made by ASUS. My friend has a GF3 made by Visiontek. with all the different companys with the GF chipset, how does one decide?

This should really be in the "Video and Sound Cards" section of the Forums.

Anyway, yes, Nvidia sells their chipsets to card makers. I have a Visiontek GF2GTS and a Visiontek GF2MX400 and am very happy with both. I've found Visiontek to be a good card maker, though Asus cards are not bad either. My personal opinion is that it's not worth the extra $100 but it depends on how much you want to be king-of-the-hill so to speak.

I would agree, I'm building my dream machine not a king of the hill machine. I want to keep it near top of the line but not waste money.

not much difference for $100. so i rather put that into a kick *** HSF or whatever else the comp needs.
well does any1 out there know which company is best? Or is it, as long as it has the GF chipset, then u cant go wrong?

I'd go for a gainward 4400, which is oc'ed by them :) I read over a review of an oc'ed 4400 and 4600 on a website, but I forget what site =\ Anyway, the oc'ed 4400 performed at par and sometime better than the 4600 (which isn't oc'ed). So save yourself the 100 bucks, and get a 4400 which gives you almost equal performance if not slightly better in certain areas.

i hear gainward comming up all the time, i guess that is the brand to go with. thx guyz

I guess gainward is good, its the most expensive manufacture with the Nvidida Chipset. Besides the price and just that u like it, can u tell me Y Gainward is the best. What are the fact, y should i choose Gainward?

hmmm...i'd actually get the 4600...it's already top of the line and should last you quite a long time...and as soon as new games or progs come out the begin to stress the card, there always overclocking...but then again...i am partial to the 4600

yes, i MUST know why every mentions Gainward [i thought it was a no namer brand...?]. is it stable when oc'ed? cheaper? compliments most setups?

GoldenTiger: what is 'VIVO' that gainward also features?

...i was thinking about 4600 really heavily, but now i'm noticing more ppl saying 4400 can SURPASS it!! *woah* that's big exclamation mark!

Gainward cards tend to OC higher, and have faster RAM. I think overclocking is even covered by their warranty to a certain extent.
