My Money would be on the PCI card. The AGP card doesn't have enough ram to suport very many colors at higher resolutions, also it is a previous generation gpu.

would a 8mb TNT Ultra AGP be better than the 8mb rage pro AGP??
thx for the responses

Yes it would but I am looking at the rest of your system and wondering why you are even considering any of those cards. Just get an 8500.

Thats is you can afford it.

well as far as the card it self the pci one, but keep in mind you will get ****ed on bandwidth the pci card. PCI Slots have a max bandwidth of 133 MB/sec while AGP 4x is 1024MB/sec and AGP 2x is 512MB/sec. And in case you were wondering MB is megabytes not megabits. Jus get a Radeon 7000 or 7200 or 7500 AGP all very cheap cards. try newegg.com for some cheap ati's. where i get all my stuff.

Which would be better- the nVidia TNT2 32 MB card or the Kyro 2 64MB card? Both are AGP.

its no contest i cant even put into words how much better the KyroII is it would be like going from a Pentium 166MMX to an Athlon XP......

What about the GeForce2 MX400 64MB v. Kyro II 4500 64MB?

once again the KyroII smacks it around....a KyroII is more comparable to a Radeon32mbDDR or a Geforce2 GTS it is a little faster than both of them with an athlonXP.....the cpu youre goign to get is pretty good with the KyroII,,,,,,,,
