Well, I switched to A64, but windows 2000 kept on freezing... XP64 and Vista ain't free, so I'm looking for a good 64bit Linux.

I heard SuSE and Mandrake are pretty good, any suggestions? I got Ubuntu right now.

My personal favorite distro is Gentoo. It may not be right for you, however. I've installed Ubuntu once, and it seemed decent enough. I really didn't like Mandrake all that much when I used it. I haven't tried SUSE.

Oh, and how do you burn CDs in Ubuntu?
With a cd burning program. You can do it with cdrecord from the command line, or you can get a nice gui prrogram. I like k3b and xcdroast. Check and see if ubuntu has a package for either of these.

LoL I just figured out how. All I need to do was to copy the files onto my Black CD-R, and then press burn. Man that was easy.

I read from the FAQs Gentoo are more of a professional Linux, I just got started, so... ya...
Which n00b linux has 64 bit support? SuSE 10.0 OSS seems to be decent, but somewhat my monitor says it's out of range after I installed it (44hz..), so blank monitor for me.

With Ubuntu I think there is a program called gnomebaker that burns CD's and DVD's. I like Ubuntu, or for that matter anything Debian based. I installed Mandrake before, meh....it was just ok. SuSe i have not tried because its not free( altough they may have a open source distro now ). Ahhh, I tried to install Gentoo once, I never got to a desktop because the installation was so confusing, that might be because I did a net-install though. I booted the cd and it didnt even give me a clue what to do, just left you in a console or terminal. I had to go and look up what I was suppose to enter( very lame ). So I would not recommend it. Stick with Ubuntu 64 bit.

Alright, guess I'll stick with Ubuntu 64.

Now, more n00b questions:
How do I install WINE on Ubuntu?
How do I get a temp reading for CPU?
Does KNOPPIX Linux have a one CD version?
Can PHLAK be used to backup entire NTFS system? How about PHLAK little boy?

Downloading SuSE 10.0 OSS internet install (60MB) at 11KB/s man their server is slow...

"How do I install WINE on Ubuntu?" try apt-get install WINE
"How do I get a temp reading for CPU?" Dont know how to in Linux
"Does KNOPPIX Linux have a one CD version?" Yes, they are all one cd, its a live distro and only runs off one cd.
"Can PHLAK be used to backup entire NTFS system? How about PHLAK little boy?
" Yes, so can any other linux distro, you just need to mount your ntfs file system and then proceed to copy it to wherever you want it.
