you can get that 17" samsung the 753df at bestbuy now for $199.99 plus a $40 rebate...its a great monitor for the money...).24mm dot pitch...if you want a 19" monitor get the samsung 955, same specs only 2 inches larger...

Viewsonic makes good monitors... at least I'm happy with my E90fb. It's Black, 19", and a flat screen CRT. I believe it 25 dot pitch. Max res 1600x1280. At 1024x768 max refresh rate is 100Hz. Ran me about $260 plus shipping... but there are 17", non-flat screen, or white models, that'll cost a bit less.

just 1 thing what is with the dot pitch??????????

The dot pitch shows how close together the individual phosphers of the same color are. It takes three individual phosphers of different colors to make up one pixel so the closer together each individual phosphers is the larger the total number of pixels in a given area will be. The smaller the dot pitch is the better the picture will look on said monitor.

www.tomshardware.com has a nice fresh review of several 19" monitors ................. most are higher end though so it depends on ur $$$$ but u listed an IIYAMA and they ain't cheap .

About 2 of the models are very reasonable esp when u consider the good reviews that almost all models got .

I have a LG995E 19" which I'm quite happy with but the newer stuff in Tom's roundup are times better .

HY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanx for the replies.:)
I decided to buy a Samsung or Phillips.

I can get a SAMSUNG 957P TCO99 for a good price, bu the dot pitch is 0.26 and it has a round cathod tube whatever that means.
Is this monitor any good. i know that some monitors have a 0.22 dot pitch...

Or should i buy a SAMSUNG 957DF TCO99 ??????
Where can i get more info about these monitors????
I checked the manufacturers sit but there was no info or i have missed it.

What is the PHILIPS 19 109S TCO 99 like??????????????

THANX

I would personally go with the 957df instead of the 957p($20cnd where I'm from). It not much more expensive then the 957p but the flat screen will be better on you eyes. less glare and reflection from the light around you.

I own a lg flatron 915ft+ and thinks it a good buy too. Lots of extra features like usb hub and bnc connectors. There is One bad thing about it though, like tomshardware pointed out, the geometry is bad.

I've got my eye on the Samsung 955DF as well. Look's like a great monitor. And for the price you can't really beat it. a .20 dot pitch as well. All for only $239.00 shipped. Now I just have to find someone to buy this 17" ViewMate off of me. The wife say's I can't get a new one till I sell it.
