which rheostat do I need

I was at www.radioshack.com and I found the rheostat section (http://www.radioshack.com/category.asp?catalog_name=CTLG&category_name=CTLG_010_003_003_000&Page=1) but I dont know which one to get. How do you calculate ohm, watts and all that jaz. Thanks in advance for helping.

P.S. I already have a 100 ohm 5 watt one from www.kdcomputers.com ... will this one work or will its max speed be less then my fan's speed w/o the rhostat?

PM HOOT as he has some of the finest Rheostats you can find, I bought two from him and I threw my 'Shack' Rheostats in the garbage


PS these (pictured)are Ohmite 12.5W 35 ohm

He ran out of Big 'Uns' that were rated at Ohmite 25W 100 ohm
