which video cards support my mobo?

which video card to buy? help requested
using a gygabyte p35 ds3lmobo the geforce 7600 i am using has some problems... i would like to upgrade

first: this is a PCI express (1) mobo. pci express 2,0 is not backwards compatible?

second: if not, where then to find a list of possible video upgrades?

8 and 9 series will do just fine, i think. i'm not sure whether pcie 2.0 is backwards compatible or not! but this site says:

The PCIe Base 2.0 specification supports both 2.5GT/s and 5GT/s signaling rates, in order to retain backward compatibility with existing PCIe 1.0 and 1.1 systems.

Just about any PCIe card will be fine. YOu have a pcei1.1 slot I would imagine and any 2.0 cards will work just fine and will not suffer any performance loss.

How much would you like to spend on a new card?
