hi.
the problem im getting is with the AGP multiplier from BIOS. i modified my case and after that AGP can go up to 2X. i can set anyone of 1X, 2X or 4X in BIOS but SiSof Sandra relates only up to 2X. Before the new case and all the installation process 4X was accepted.
i thought that would surely be a GART issue but have also reinstalled it, uninstalled and reinstalled again in turbo mode but no way to get 4X.
What has it possibly happened?
Sandra relates it in the mainboard section as if 2X was enabled in BIOS. i have not formatted or modified anything on software, only the case was changed.

ASUS CUV4X-E mb
asus agp-V7100 GeForce II MX
VIA 694X
Detonator3 6.50
VIA 4in1 4.31

I would try clearing the CMOS and then see if it willl do it.

Make sure you have the AGP driving value set to Auto also, if your
board has that option.

On my system, once I finally got the AGP 4x to work it only
gave me a few extra points in 3DMark 2000, and seems to
cause Unreal Gold to lockup, so I put it back to 2x...

Since your video card is a bit newer, it might be worth your while
to get 4x going, but I have read others saying that the performance
increases are negligable.....

Update.

I just updated from the 6.50 dets to the 12.00 leaked versions.

Now AGP4x appears to be disabled, and I cant get it back.

Reinstalled the latest VIA gart thingy, but it is still gone.

Not very worried since the 4x setting had minimal benefits
and caused problems with some games.

Perhaps we are encountering the alleged "bugs and incompatiblities" that Sandra mentions for the Apollo Pro
chipset.......
