I Just bought $200 worth of water cooling gear and my temps are a sad 40c

I have a: Swiftech MCW372, 3/8'' ,tubing Black ice Raditor, 120mm fan @ 100cfm, sumerged 180gph (has no back pressure so it comes out @ 40-60gph), 5 feet worth of tubing, 50\50 water\anti.

What is going on:cry:

Don't make me feel bad too. My black ice extreme will show up Monday. Will see how it goes. For now my temp is 43C idle, ambient 24C, watertemp is 34C.

Anti-freeze is not as good as straight water for absorbing heat and should be in a much less concentration. What is your ambient temp?

I dont think it's the raditor i think it is the damn pump (pice-o-crap)

I'm in the same boat as you buddy. Except I'm cooling a crappy Duron 700@933 that puts out a measily 65 watts of heat!!!

Nobody can figure out what's wrong :(

I know I just got done reading your thread hope mine brings bolth of us solutions to this problem

My room is 75 f, the water 80.8 f, the fan at 80%
You are not far off from right. You are only 16c over ambient. My spiral is about 10c over ambient w/250gph pump and heater core. Try straight water and if you feel the need a bigger pump.

racecar is right. Why use 50/50 10% antifreeze is good enough if you don't have water wetter

You should use about 85% water 15% antifreeze, and make sure that you have good air flow over the radiator, a shroud would be best. Even better than the black ice, would be a regular heater core. You can pick these up brand new for abour 35-40, or you can go to a radiator repair shop that specializes in radiators and heater cores, and get a used one for about $10.

Also mounting has a really big effect on your heat.I have a problem with my maze 2 every time i take it off and put it back i have mess with it to get my temps back. But once i get the right spot my temps are great so try messing with your mounting,However do so with the PC off never mess with it with the pc on or it my cost you a CPU:mad:

Nah the only power in a pc that can do anything to you at all is in the power supply.Nothing will happen to you if you touch anything in you pc with the power on

there is alot of bad advice flying around. antifreze/water doesn't cool as well as straight water but straight water will cause corrision water/water wetter will cool better than straight water and fight corrision if you plan on bring water temp below 0c by all mean use antifreeze. stick with you present radiator and get a ehiem 1250. are you using the stock fittings that come with your block if so remove them and epoxy in barbed fittings. are you sure you got all the air out?

If I buy a second pump and have it so one pushes the water and one pulls will the flow rate go up because of it. (Beckett push water, Raditor, Block, Second pump(ehiem)pulls water):eh?:

Where could I get a Heater Core other than online auto parts store?

I got all the air out of the water block and the raditor as well as all the lines. the water is 2*F above the temp of Air, and the cpu is nearly 20*C above air.

heck if your using a beckett that is more than likely your problem. you can get a heater core from a local auto parts store but the black ice prime is rated to dissapate 419 watts of heat if your not going over that a heater core isn't going to make a difference. if you haven't already got the blackice a heat core would have been a better choice.

Make sure that your block is seated correctly. The CPU temp seems high compared to the water.
