Why I hope the search for ET life finds nothing

Guys, we're not going out there, we are slow, the fastest man made thing was launched in the 70's, 50 years later............ nothing faster.
40.000 miles an hour, just wow but on an intersteller scale, A snail is killing us.
We are soft and squishy, most stuff out there kills us.
