Some weird **** is going on, I just downloaded the newest busmaster drivers 3.11 for my asus a7m266 motherboard to see if possibly I could get any more performance out of my harddrive (only scoring barely 18k on sisoft sandra 2001 using the drive benchmark says the reference is supposed to be 24,000 whay the hell is mine sooo slow thought the ibm's were the fastest ide drives..) Looks as though my drivers for the primary and secondary are both configured with the new drivers 3.11 busmaster showing as 2 Via Ultra BM DMA channels and the Via Bus master Ultra ATA Controller, but now the disk driver reads this: IC35L060 AVER07-0 SCSI DISK DEVICE anyone know any reason why windows 2000 suddenly thinks my Ibm deskstar gxp60 60gb drive is a scsi harddrive now? Has anyone had any performance boosts using these Via drivers? I think I'm just gonna go back to my windows 2000 drivers, as Via obviously doesn't see eye to eye with windows 2000
If anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it...
