Recently purchased a Leadtek Geforce DDR 32mg to replace my 3DFX voodoo 5500 64mg. I made sure all drivers and bios are up to date and all setting are correct and it not overclocked. It appears that all graphics are coming in slower on my puter. Even though 3d mark gave me better scores compared to my voodoo5. Is it just me? I did overclock it but did'nt make much difference.

Asus A7V
Duron 600 o/c 950

IBM 60 gig 7200 ata100
Geforce DDR??

Actually your right . the voodoo 5 is a good card but most games like quake 3 and especially Unreal T are made for voodoo cards. I run a voodoo 3 overclocked to 195mhz from the stock 166 and i get way faster frame rates in Unreal T then i did with the kyro 2 which i bought 2 days ago. I am bringing back the kyro 2 tommorow to compusa . The only way your going to see some better improvments is if you get a 64 meg ddr gts pro or a ultra or just go for geforce 3. I
I only saw better visual improvments with the kyro then the voodoo 3

Thanks Me,
Your right, will be slipping the VD5 back in and return the Geforce. The reason I chose the 32mg is to my understanding I would only need the extra ram if I was to run extra high resolutions. I'm happy at 1026x768 32 and can't imagine running higher anytime soon in the future.
Thanks for the input.

Your vsync is on for sure ... go into the settings and make sure its always off. If mine is on I dont get anymore than 50 fps or so but if its off I get arround 100 (in counter-strike that is)

I use a 19" monitor when i play games so i am always in 1024*768 res with the voodoo 3 in 16bit color. If you want to get better frame rates in 16 or 32 bit in 1024*768 you will need 64MegDDR not 32DDR , i guess the more ram is better at a higher res. I think the voodoo 5 or 5500 is a really good card. The leadtek ultra geforce 2 card is the best for $235. I guess tribes 2 and counter strike might act differently since all newer 3d games are moving towards the geforce cards, since 3dfx dosnt support updated drivers anymore. If you want high FPS then your voodoo 5 and good visuals then glide get the ULTRA ! The gts pro 64DDR will give you better fps at 1024*768 then your 32meg card
