Why would my 9800Pro...come from the factory with 9800 XT BIOS?!

Got this from http://softmod.ocfaq.com/index.php

When I scroll down to BIOS for the HIS cards and click on details for the HIS 9800XT it reads the following....

HIS 9800 XT 256 MB
Date added: 2004-04-18 17:28:02 Date compiled: 2003-10-23 10:28:00
Bios title: RADEON 9800 113-A18807-101 BIOS
Copyright string: (C) 1988-2003, ATI Technologies Inc. BK-ATI VER008.015.058.000
Original filename: njrq4719.p01 v611 Card ID: R360AGP DGD1UN
Core Clock: Mhz Memory Clock: Mhz

the interesting part is this line...

Copyright string: (C) 1988-2003, ATI Technologies Inc. BK-ATI VER008.015.058.000

This is the same version # that SANDRA reports as my GPU BIOS for my HIS 9800PRO.
Is this an indication that I may have an underclocked XT core?

Only way to see and know for sure is to remove the cooler, clean off the thermal goop and look at the core #. If it's a 360, then yes. if it's a 350, then it's a no.

I know that, thanks, just find it odd that its using the XT BIOS...I looked at the version numbers on that same website for the HIS 9800 PROs and they are different.

Gecube's 9800Pro is also the same. Here's a link to a local forum. Would have gotten this if i had had not purchased my 5900XT a month ago !
