Wierd CD problem??

My CD seems to dipslay intermittantly. Sometimes I can see the contents in explorer, sometimes I can't and I can't find a pattern to what does this.

Any ideas?

This happened to me once. It turned out that the drive was taking a puke on me. It was still under warranty so I had it swapped out and everything has been goood ever since.

Mmm I think it's still under guarentee as well this drive. RMA here I come.
Thx I'lk try that first, only had the drive since November.

My brother had a CD drive that did this and it was dying also. Too bad it was out of warranty.

I have a drive like this

Ive got an old 24X Hitachi drive. It kept on failing to show explorer and things like the sort of intermitent problems you have, A m8 of mine had a cleaning cd and it seemed to help the problem but its a long shot .
