Will I notice much of an improvement between 22" and 26"?

OK so I was planning to buy a T260 (not HD model) which is 25.5" diagonally.
Just to see what kinda gap I was going to get I brought out my 19" monitor. I have to say the difference between my 19" and 22" seems to be that my 22" is slightly longer but not much else... so I'm wondering if I'll notice a difference between 22" and 24" or 26"

Thanks in advanced

In my opinion, you should be looking at resolution instead of inches. If you go from a 22" 1920x1080 to a 24"/26" 1920x1200, then yeah the screen is bigger but you'll get hardly any more "real estate" and the 24"/26" will look worse (it will be more pixelated b/c the pixels on the 24"/26" 1920x1200 will be bigger and the ones on the 22" 1920x1080). If you go from a 22" 1680x1050 to a 24"/26" 1920x1200, then things will look sharper and you'll have more "real estate."

i thot the highest res a 22" could go was 1920x1080?

But i agree with matt... going from 1680x1050 to 1920x1200 is a significant jump... going from 1920x1080 to 1920x1200.... not so much...

I think you're right about the 1920x1080 for 22" I didn't realize that (I'll edit). In any case, I think resolution is what you should look for.

Well I'd be going from 22" 1680x1050 to a 24" 1920x1080 or to a 26" 1920x1200.
Would there really be that big of a difference? Also would the reaction from me be like "WOAH it's huge!" or just "Hmm it's a little bit bigger"

I guess that would depend on the person, my reaction was "WOAH it's huge!" going from 20" 1600x900 to 24" 1920x1200.

Well, just measuring the dimensions for the t260 where it would go and BLIMEY! If it's anything like that size then I'm going to be > woah it's huge! =P
19.8" high? 24" wide? That's just crazy large.

The 24" monitors still seem quite a bit bigger but not quite that much more =P

Thanks for all your help especially MattNo5ss
