ok i am looking to add a bit of wireless because i am going to get a Wii and for those of you who dont know Wii has a bulit in wireless adaptor.

i like my router buti dont want to replace it so i was wonderin, can i plug this:
WGA11B into myy router giving it the same results as a regular access point (which i am thinkin it is but not sure) or is there something different about it that doesent allow me to do this?

I am not real sure what that is, looks like it might be a bridge. Besides why not just get a regular AP?

let me get this straight, you want put a gaming device on you router so you have better performance with gaming? Im not sure what your asking.

never mind i cant explain it any simpler so forget it
and thats not meant to sound like i am knocking you guys i just cant explain it any simpler, its a problem i have that arises from time to time

This is not exactly what you want. This will not be using the internal wireless that the Wii has. This will convert the network connector the Wii as (I think it has anyway) to wireless, and therefore be useless to you, since you have nothing that will be reciving the wireless signal.

If you buy a wireless router, you can simply plug the wireless router into the current router. It should take care of everything , just set it to find it's IP automatically and most routers will take care of everything. I do this but in a more sophisticated manor, with routing tables and whatnot. Its all the same though.

Edit: sorry, just to clarify, it looks like you COULD use the adapter you pointed out, by conencting it to a port in the router's switch. However I do not belive it will work, since the WII does not to Adhoc IIRC, and that setup would be adhoc and not a managed setup.
