greetings all

way back my sis ended up with a 1.8 willy, which is a total dog...i mean my tualeron kicks it's butt. how much would a 1.8 northy ouperform it? would it be worth it to upgrade to a northy 1.8, or should i wait until 533 fsb chips come down in price and score one?

its better for overclocking. 1.8 willy genarlly Overclocks to 2.0-2.1 ghz. the 1.8a has gone to 2.7 and above. a c1 stepping 1.8a has been known to go past 3.3 ghz. if your nopt going to OC, just leave it as is, there wont be that big of an improvemnet.(sp)

the 533 fsb chips arent that bad in price

if you can get a C1 1.8 and overclock then that would be a VERY worthwhile upgrade. However if you do not overclock then there would be a very small performace increase. If you cannot find a C1 1.8, many people have had excellent overclocking luck with the 2.4b, which is a 533 chip, and almost all new ones are of the C1 variety.
