If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:


1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver




I would say no probably wont work. IF it even would install (by removing the limits in the installer) it would run horribly.

Does not run so well on a 2GHz hyperthreaded Atom with 2 GB of 800 MHz RAM, and a OCed 9400 nVidia ION gpu.
 
win 7 runs just fine on my standard 1.6ghz atom netbook.

install 1 faild.... super stripped version had no drivers for the old software

install2 failed.... wasn't tweaked to install on 256mb of ram.

3rd times a charm anyone?

EDIT--- 3rd time is a charm.... kept the necessary drivers, and change the min requirement for ram... at 30% expanding files now hehe.

Edit 2 --- installed and updating as we speak haha she works!

heheh screen shot! she worked but no gfx drivers available killed the deal. o well.

It worked decently well for the hardware.

yeah i was gonna say it would work too bu the display drivers will be generic .. i put windows 7 on my old laptop and she runs allot better than xp ever did
 
But can it run Crysis?

i really wish i was able to get an expierence index score but o well... if i could get gfx drivers working on it i would have played around with it longer.

And yes that cpuz screenie is right. 496mhz... its quite weird its before speedstep so when it down clocks it bumps the multi up to 12 and drops the fsb to 41... it normally runs @ 8.5x100

and crysis... a breeze... 100fps full maxed out no problem!

Last I heard there were no w7 audio drivers for the atom netbook. Did you get all the drivers for it finally, or you just wanted to know if w7 would install?

Ya pretty sure... i dont think i ever installed audio drivers on my netbook... it just worked.

I used a full non stripped version of win 7 pro 32 but i had to tweak it in vlite to install on a comp with 256mb of ram.
 
I've installed it on a few sub-3Ghz P4 systems with only 512mb ram and I'd say it didn't really run much slower than XP would, not bad really.
