Just got my CPU today. I'm waiting on a DFI NF4-SLi DR ( ) . Well it dosent look good for these late 04 chesters. Just want to know what is expected of this CPU. I have a couple weeks ( ) before I can build. I got it from the EGG and was woundering (while I have time ) if I should just send it back or keep it because it was so cheep. Do you think a retail version would have a later or same stepping? Mine was OEM.
Edit: Screw it. TO many people freakin out over the steppings. I came on to find out what all the #'s on my chip ment and people have me freakin that my 3200+ Winchester is going to be crap. It will be fine.
If you want to complain about 100-200Mhz then here is a real reason to complain. My 1700+ "THE CHIP" in a NF7-S v.2 with Mushkin 3200 level II v.1 (BH-5) OCed to 232*11.5, 2.66ghz. ON AIR!!! It cost $42 with shipping!! I ran it stable at 225*10 for almost a year. You will find some bad over clockable CPU's but by God when you find "THE CHIP" it will be well worth the search.
p.s. The Stepping for "THE CHIP" is:
AXDA1700DLT3C 9591037281283 JIUHB 0319WPMW
p.s. I'm searching for a Trusting person with a EXTREME cooling system to test "THE CHIP" I think at sub zero temps THIS 1700+ could reach 3.0GHz speeds.
