I just got my seagate 160GB sata drive back from RMA, so I'm eager to install windows onto it. I'm trying to install Windows 2000 with SP4 slipstreamed. The problem is windows is only recognizing 131 gigs when I go to partition the drive. I was under the impression that with SP4, windows 2000 should recognize over 137GB drives with no problem. Can someone shed some light on this?

I just partitioned the drive using a Windowx XP SP2 disk, and then W2K was able to be installed. I would still like to know why my slipstreamed SP4 disk wont recognize the disk properly.

W2K Setup doesn't support creating partitions greater than 137GB. When performing a clean install of W2K w/ SP3 or greater from the CD, the setup program will only allow you to create a single partition up to 131GB... even though 48-bit LBA is supported with SP3 / SP4.
