During windows 7 boot, it appears for the first 5 or so seconds while the windows logo animation runs there is no HD activity. Does anyone know what the computer is doing during this time or if there is a way to have the OS start loading files immeaditaly. I also have tried msconfig-> no gui boot and it doesnt make a difference.

Cheers!

The only way I know of to remove the boot animation in Win7 is to modify the authui.dll file (same as with Vista), which is located in the %systemroot%\System32 directory.
