a friend of mine sent me an email asking if his computer could run windows 7. here are the specs he sent, he currently runs XP and said the windows 7 upgrade advisor didnt like his video card. i dont know much at all about Win7 but i would think it would run just fine. he also said he wants to upgrade hardware but im not sure its worth the money for him, all he really does is internet and simple desktop type applications. what do you all think, will this system run 7?

OCZ 450W Power supply
AMD athlon 4200 x2 Processor
Leadtek GeForce 6800 PCI Express 256MB
ASUS A8N-E Athlon 64(FX) motherboard
Geil DDR400 PC3200 2GB

My first impression is that everything listed there is certainly modern enough, but after a brief googling it sounds like Leadtek is dragging their feet with making drivers. Some people are reporting success by using alternate drivers.

Have your buddy run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to see if there are any compatibility issues. It's not unfallable by any means, but should give you a guestimate as to how the upgrade would go on the system.
