Installed upgrade yesterday on my drive that had win 7 beta on it and it never asked for proof of ownership of xp or vista. I thought this was a vista or xp upgrade? Did it just overwrite the beta version and does that mean you don't need the others to make it install? Sorry if this is a noob question.

The W7 RC1 7100 Beta DOES qualify for a W7 "Upgrade" (as long as your RC-1 7100 beta is "Activated"). The "gotcha" is the W7 Beta is only valid until the middle of 2010 (I forget the expiration date). So, if you need to re-install your "Upgrade" later next year, you will not be able to re-install W7 RC-1 and activate it prior to installing the upgrade. You would either need to install XP or Vista and activate them, then proceed with the W7 upgrade installation. There *might* be a few ways around this, but that is the "legit" procedure for Upgrade media...

That's not a problem for me since I have both vista and xp.
