I have a ibm x60 laptop and it has a built in sd card reader. When I put it in it does not display the sd card in windows explorer or in my computer. However when I go into the device manager I see that by my harddrive it has my sd card labeled and everything but has a black exclamation mark on a yellow shield saying that there is a code 10 and the drive couldn't be initialized. I did some research and found this,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921413

This is exactly my problem but they don't offer a hotfix for it unless you call them and calling them costs a freakin' boat load. Any ideas?

Have you already tried to locate the newest XP drivers from the SD card reader manufacturer's site, or tried contacting them directly?

The thing is though Microsoft recognizes the problem and just decides to screw the consumer. I fear for the future of computing when they become even bigger
