One day, my Lite-on CD-RW drive disappeared from the drive list. So I rebooted to check BIOS and it still showed up as primary slave with correct model number and everything. Load into Windows, nothing, no drive, no new hardware detected, nothing...help?

Delete the keys "upperfilters" and "lowerfilters", they should be in a folder in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\IDE. You'll see the name of your CDRW drive there.
