Hi All,
I can't get windows to boot on the machine in my sig. It posts through then displacy windows xp loading with the line that runs back in forth on the bottom then goes to a blank screen instead of the log on screen. I did wait a while and got to the desk top with no shortcuts on the desck top. Was able to control, alt delted and see what is running. Right now I got to the safe mode and am backing some files up. Ther was some updates pereformed yeasterday on xp. On one safe mode I restored back to a day before the updates and still have the problem. Boy I need help with this one. Thanks a bunch Steve

Try reinstalling windows - but only as a last resort.

Looks like a video card problem to me.

Thanks for the information. This morning everything booted up normally. All I did was shut the machine off last night and this morning everything is normal. I have had this machine together for 4 months now and the only thing that happens every once in a while maybe once a month it will not log on and I will get some colored bar at the bottom of the screen but resetting starts it normal again and my digi-doc 5 will go to defaults on start up(these 2 events may or may not happen together) and will have to rest all the temps and fans. Another fact is when the digi does this and after the screen saver comes on when I come out screen saver mode there is a music entry played where normally there is not. Sorry for the long post but maybe some one can make some sense out of this Steve

Glad to hear it works :)

Will not log on? What happens? I know that if I overclock my FSB to 107MHz or higher I get a 'profile not found' error.

Looks like a config file is getting messed up perhaps. Are you overclocked at all?

Music? Sounds weird.

I am not overclocked at all. The digi doc is not dependent on the system for its memory so don't think it is pc related. Possible power supply? Even though my 12 volt is 11.91-12.05 and 5 volt is always in the 5.02-5.08 range. I am going to watch thing for a while see if anything else shows up. Thanks Steve
