Windows xp locks after display setting changed?

I am running win xp and i bought a gf2 mx400 for christmas. Was running fine for awhile then had to reformat and then when i reinstalled windows xp when i go to display properties and i change anything then hit apply it locks i cant move mouse nothing i have to restart any ideas on what this could be would be greatly appreciated....matt

I'd update the driver. Download the newest driver from the web site.

Uninstall the old driver from the control panel reboot the machine and install the new driver.
