Hi guys,

I downloaded WinRAR from download.com last night. When I installed it nothing got detected from my anti-virus so it was all sweet but then when i ran A-Squared (free) scan for the sake of it I happen to come across this and what is it? Why would a program like this have this?

Thanks.

did you get winRAR from the official website? Cause that is the only place I would get it from with like the exception of possibly download.com

Could possibly be a false postitive. Uninstal, download from winrar.com, scan the file and see if it gets detected again.

I googled that trojan name, and found there's security site forums and even EMSI soft's own forum is complaining about that being a false positive with A² vs. WinRar.

Just list the winrar directory in the exceptions. If Kaspersky's don't say it's a virus, chances are it ain't.

Had the same thing happen to me and I did download Winrar from the official website.Unfortunately it deleted or changed a file in the program when it was detected/removed.Still seems to work fine though.
