WinXp broke counter-strike

I installed winXP on my comp, a Athlon600Mhz with 320Mb of RAM and a Radeon 32MB SDR video card.
enough backround story now the problem.

My FPS in the game have been cut in 1/2 since switch from win98 to winXP making the game unplayable. MY fps where around 40 before the upgraded and now they average about 14FPS! Any ideas on fixing it(don't have the funds for a new video card yet and have tried amny different video drivers.)

have you tried the emulator to play it in 98 emu. Right click on the icon and choose the compatibility tab on the pop up the rest is trial and error. I have a hard time running UT tac ops mod without the emulator set to 98.?? hope this helps.

thx fer the reply but i already got it fixed i ahd to change a few command lines in my cs config file
