Hey guys...here's the deal

I just got a wireless router Netgear wgt624 v3 and I basically got everything I could do with a crossover cable with the new router (e.g. print and file sharing, internet)...but now I can't create a LAN game at all using the wireless. I'm using Warcraft III Frozen Throne to test this...

Did anybody try or get this working?

thanks!
I used to use a crossover cable for my networking needs, until i got the router recently....i'll try the program now...

The cross over cable allows you to connect 2 computers directly without a Hub or router. He's not using the cable anymore.

What networking proticalls are you using? What type of connection are you trying to setup in the game?

stick the computers on the same workgroup. they should also have similar IP addresses.

i would use the saying "open up the port" but usually on a LAN that's never been an issue for me.

*sigh* its not working right....

ok i opened up the port 6112 (by port-triggering - same as port-forward only not ip specific) to do this with warcraft FT...
I linked two pc's (main rig and lappy) wired to the router...and was able to play a LAN game..
i then turned on the wireless and disconnected the cable from the lappy leaving the main rig connected wired...
and then the LAN game would disconnect....

I am able to share files and go on the internet with no problems wired or wirelessly...

its gotta be one setting that i'm missing in the router but i'm not sure...

they are using the same workgroup (mshome) and the subnet IP is the same 192.168.1.XXX
and I hope not that the game is too old...that would be really bad...i'll test it out with unreal tournament 2004 and see if the same happens..

until then..any other suggestions to help me narrow down the problem? and has anyone done a wireless LAN game?

Edit--- I got it, FINALLY, I thought about it long and hard and guessed that it was the firewall, so disabled everyone of them...and eureka!..it worked!
so it was a simple matter of process of eilmination...and it was the windows firewall on my lappy that blocked the lan game, now i can sleep easy.

thanks for help guys!
