Wireless on laptop = owned

So I'm trying to fix my girlfriends sisters laptop. Has a wireless card, and can see all the wireless connections and blahblah, Tells me I'm connected to their router, but IE and firefox won't load any of the sites and I can't access the router. Suggestions?

running dhcp on the router?, is it configured on the laptop as well, if so does it have an address?

Try power cycling router and modem

Got the internet working kinda. Won't let us access any email sites though. The other computer on the router works fine, so I'm assuming it's a setting on the laptop somewhere.
