I am looking to run my current broadband ouf of a Linksys wireless router. The problem is the signal is lower with the omni antenna the with the stock antennas. I am not amping the cable at this time. I know that would probably help. I guess I need to know if there is a fix for the linksys to up the power or will the amp do the trick?

So, basicly you are looking for more range out of your linksys....

Best bet is to relocate the AP. Generaly the higher in the building the better, but that is no guarantee.

Adding amplifiers is generaly not a good idea, they are expensive, difficult to build or obtain a high-quality unit and run right against the FCC regulations. You can pump up the power via software, but you often get spectrum spread on the output - effectively you just get a lot of noise.

Try a different omni or even better, use a couple of Yagi's to localize the coverage.

Well actually you can amp it but only to a prescribed amperage to rcover cable loss.
