i hate freakin wireless, every one et it to work right except me for some freakin reason, its most likely interference as usual but theres a signal, it only has to travel 8 feet or so.

any way i cant get my Wii to connect to the PCI card in my computer, i am trying to set it up as an access point but its being AN *** and eats my freakin internet connection making it so i have to manually add my ip and dns and all that manually into my wired connection to GET BACK on the internet.

can any one help?

Do you have a router, or are you just trying to use a wireless pci card for your pc?

access is from a wired router, i am using a **** *** belkin 802.11g wireless pci card i cant get the 2 to even see each other and i have tried setting manual settings on both ends.

i set the ssid both the same on both the Wii and the PCI card as well as the WPA and key, it just wont go.

i am going to try to get a USB cable and a wireless router today (still should be some sales on today) the USB cable is for the print server i got for free, i am gona see if i can get wired internet to work for the wii, if not i'll crack the router open how ever i would still like help connecting the PCI card and the Wii together because i would like to buy a game

forgot to ask:

does the drive light up when Wiiconnect 24 is online? if not when it light up?

hrmm problem.

got the wii to see the wireless card but i get error code 51030, it tells me to check SSID and its the same on both (named it wii for obvious reasons)

so i go and check the error code and its this:

Belkin routers are the only known at the moment incompatable routers, so its very likely my belkin PCI card other than being a big flaming peice of ****, is having a similar problem to these routers and the Wii.

belkin used to make good products but lately they kinda really suck ***, what happened to them?

There is no router. He's trying to make a bridge between his wireless card and his Wii.

Push comes to shove, you can try to pick up either a) a cheap wireless router (like I did) or b) a Nintendo Wi-Fi dongle. If you're running XP, the dongle may be your best choice.

well crap i went to my parents house because they had a wireless router but no wireless devices and i was gonna swap em right?

well they have a belkin router that is on the list for not being compatable.

i am going to see if i can get the wired to work, it may be like the WiFi dongle, they may make one specificly for the Wii but others may work.

The Nintendo Wi-fi dongle works with both the Wii and the DS. It uses software to create a bridge network between your network card and the dongle.

The device will only work in WinXP however, so people like me who still use the far superior Win2k are kinda boned. :(

Thats F**ked up. Isnt a wireless signal, a wireless signal? Why couldnt the good people @ nintendo make a better receiver?

Am I the only one who finds "Wireless Wii" funny?

oh i know what it does but i mean hows it any different than any other USB 802.11x thumb drive thingy

I 'spose it's no different, really. If you can get a USB dongle that will act as an access point, then grab one of those.

That's all the Nintendo one is, really.

thats why i am kinda thinkin this wired conector is gonna be the same thing.

only i just went and bought red steel and the controller freaks out on my, i would assume 27 inches isnt quite big enough and its off on the screen (big frame arround the tv tube) but if you not watching the controller you dont notice it. it might be something fixed in the firmware update too.
