Witch Brand Ti4600 Overclocks the best and would i be better of getting the fx5800 since I can get either one of these cards for around $100.00 US and what cooling soulution do you recomend.

thanks guys!!!!!!

The 5800 sucks. Its a dead card. The ti4600 is DX8, and I would avoid it. I would get a 9600pro, then a 5900NU, then a 9800np in price order.

A 5800 for $100? That's a pretty extreme bargain. Performance is near the 5900 too.

The TI4600s suck for overclocking. Your better off getting a 4200 and overclocking it to a 4600 if you want a DX8 card

The 9600 was made to replace the 9500. The 9500 was a card sold to get rid of the broken 9700's that were piling up. The 9700 was DX9, therefore so was the 9500. Why replace a DX9 card with a DX8 one? You dont. The 9600 is DX9.

the 4600 card really doesnt suck at overclocking 300/650 stock @ 335/760 with stock cooling and good case air flow, now tell me it sucks... :)

the ti4600 ahs higher ram i got one myself - leadtek

i got mine to 329 / 759 but 731 is the sweet spot

But my ti4200 i got to 331 on core and 680 on memory.

Just curious why you would stick with nvidia? why not buy what is best for your money?

I dont know anyone who has ever hit that high an OC with stock cooling and without a voltage mod.
I see from your signature you have an MX440. Do you even own this card?

There's not really an ATI I can think of that's going to scratch the FX5800 for $100. $100 for an FX5800? All I can say is - if you go with the Ti4600, you'd better give me the name and address of whoever is selling a 5800 for $100 - I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. Not as fast as a 9700 or anything, but for a hundred bucks... geez!

i think ill still stick with nvidia though

Why ATi have better driver support with Amazing AA and AF.... Don't be an person who is a die hard fan of a company... only fools are...you have to admit in times that one company is better than the other... and who has the Graphics card crown at the moment???....Ati thankyou...

Nvidia have got problems, they just won't admit it... Look at there ForceWare mumbo jumbo... Yes they are faster than the detornators but at what cost??? .... Furture mark have caught them cheating 3 times now... getting abit old...

Thats my point of things... Now everyone Carry on your topic.. I just had to make that point well clear for you Die Hard Nvidia fans...

I have a Visiontek Geforce4 TI 4600 and I can do 315/722 stable.

Im using a tall Zalman Blue NB heatsink for cooling, with a 40mm fan blowing front to back. Im measuring 58 degrees celcius at idle and 65 under load. Im measuring with a temperature probe attached to the back of the card above the GPU.

110% stable running everything and anything!!

i rencelty put a water block on it but i do not have my W/C external box made yet so it is not running.

but when i first got the card back in, ummm crap - had to be march 2002? i started to o/c it - had it runnings @ 329/759 for almost a year - till i realized that 729 gave me higher 3dmark scores :D
