Well,

Just wanted to say that I have my very first duallie on the way!!
Well everything except for the friggin motherboard!!!:mad The one thing I couldn't get @ Newegg!!!! DOH! I had everything send 2 day cause I wanted to get it up and running before the end of the week before i go away for Thanksgiving.

Here is what I ordered -

Motherboard - MSI K7D
CPU's - XP 2000's
Ram - 1 Gig of DDR 2100
Chieftec case - Blue one - hope the board fits, if not I have a
larger case at home I liked it so I
don't mind that they are played out
Fans - stock for now but willing to listen to suggestions I'm not going to overclock
Hard Drive - 10 Gig Maxtor for the OS (Win 2000)
80 Gig WD 8mb special ed. curt. of CC discout ($74)
I have 4 9 Gig scsi drives just sitting here I migh put in later
DVD Drive - Panisonic DVD - r/rw
Standard Audio - don't need anything special for vid. editing

Well, just thought that I would share. I ordered a Xeon system but decided to cancel b/c I would like to have some more cash to do another "fun" project of mine I also decided to do a Tranny and Differential on my car so wouldn't mind having the 500+ getting the AMD saved me

To have a Dual is always nice !!

I have one Dual PIII 1000 running at 1130.
The mobo on this one is an old Tyan tiger 100
from 1998 or -99 i think. Originally ordered for
Dual PII's. It works just fine with video editing
and stuff like that, never had any problems with
this rig.
My second dualle is a dual Xeon 2.6 system with Intel
SHG2 mobo. This machine is very nice !!! Real fast at
calculating audio and video streams....
It also provides about 25 WU/day...;-)

I have never tested a dual system from AMD so
no experience there. But who knows....

ive got my 1800+'s at 1900+ speed and crunching units at around 3:30 each, pretty damn fast
Im also running mine in one of the chieftec mid towers and it fits perfectly, with those rear 80mm mounts very handy for keeping the dual cpu's cool.

Anyone have any suggestions for some fans that I should pick up?? I don't know if there is a lot of room on the MSI board?

well the cooling options for me are limited, being in the states you have better options
I think J is running sk6's on his, and these are truly great heatsinks, i have @#$% stock cooling, but it keeps temps to a reasonable level.
Ive seen volcano7+'s on one also, and this will probably be my next addition to my dual.

Dual SLK-600's with Sunon 60s, keeping it at 45/50 for the temps. Run's nice and sweet.

Congrats on the dually!!! I have volcano 7cu's on my dual systems. They don't overclock well for the most part so stock cooling fans should be fine.

i kept it on the DL, but since we are on teh topic, i also got my dually recently. you can see my specs in my sig. i couldnt tell you what times im running, because i dunno... needless to say it screams

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies too!! I am going to be looking into fans some more. Anyone know a set of fans that will enable me to overclock a little that aren't that loud? I have a Vol. 7 right now with it running full steam and it is a bit loud

The only part I am a little worried about is unlocking the L5 on the Xp's
