Why do you need 4 memory slots ?

With 4 memory sticks you wont get a very good clock on the FSB.

And who on earth needs more than 512mb let alone 2 gig ?

The 8K5A2+ is more popular, and thus is likely to get better BIOS support from Epox in the future. Besides, unless you are using PC2100 DDR (esp. registered ECC) you would likely have problems.

Bank interleaving is where it's at.
Also with four cheap hd's as opposed to two cheap hd's I'd have half the read/write speed.

try using

all four slots, then report back, hehe.

first, you may need regitered ram to do it, second, your fsb clocks will be severely limited.

they make 512 sticks, two of these should be sufficient, even if you were making a Hollywood movie, jeesh.

baldy:cool:

the 8k5a2/3+ boards dont support ECC ram...so it wouldnt matter if he had pc2100 or not...and besides, both motherboards support a maximum of 3gb of ram, so getting 1 more slot wouldnt help you any

a 1gb dimm and a 512mb dimm would cost a whole lot less...seeing as how a 512mb stick of pc2700 is $150+ for a good brand. and im not even sure how much a gb dimm of it would be, but it would be less than $300 id say

why do you want 2 gb of ram? anyway
