will a fortron 350w psu be enough to power my rig (it also has 2 cold cathode vantec lights, a cd burner, and dvd player) if i upgraded my video card to a 9600xt?

It should be quite adequate, provided you're not doing any serious overclocking. If you want to do some heavy OC'ing though, you might want 400w+. A little more power would give you a bit more elbow room for future upgrades as well.

I myself would grab the 530w or the Antec Truepowers above 430w for that system - the oc'd P4 will already be a big drain for the 350. The 350 I think would do the job, but probably won't have much left over.

I would guess that it would but the 2 cold cathodes make it a little iffy, if you have the extra cash you might wanna get a 530w Fortron...
