Wouldn't it be nice if game producer stop making the game unplayable to some lower-end vid cards and start thinking some creative and non-boring games like by releasing the over-rated CS-CZ???? It's a waste of money and energy just wanting some smooth graphics because of the "fancy games" being populated in the first place.

Hey guys, a game's not rated completely based on its graphics but on its creativity and playablity. This thread has gone started last night when I was thinking, huh, We didn't have as nice as and not even close to the graphics nowadays games, and we were fine with it. Instead We now have controversies about something we love , right guys???? anyways , i was thinking wouldn't it be great if "brian-working overtakes the now-over-rated graphics?????

i would have agreed with you......2 years ago....i was fine playing QuakeII on my P166....it was fun, but then my dad got his PIII450 and Riva TNT....QuakeII was never the same again.....
like it or not, good graphics really help a game....GTA3 for example is a great game, but it would not be nearly as fun if it didnt look so real....

i recently tried playin Wolfenstein 3D, it was a GREAT game, real fun....but after playing Half-Life (at the time the most beautiful graphics ever for me ), SOF, GTA3, UT2003Demo, and RTCW i could not go back to looking at that ghetto fake 3d engine....of course this is all imho...

then again i love Half-Life and i respect them for Software Rendering built in.....turn off a couple settings and it runs fine even on my crappy 200MMX laptop with 32mb of ram....but i love sweet graphics...im hooked

yep,, I think the computers , sooner or later, It's gonna be united. No different kinds of Vid cards. By then , everybody wouldn't complain or proud of their computers and we'll be happy forever.....

yep,, I think the computers , sooner or later, It's gonna be united. No different kinds of Vid cards. By then , everybody wouldn't complain or proud of their computers and we'll be happy forever.....

but think of how much that would SUCK...no tweaking, no overclocking, no oc forums......technology would be at a standstill because there would be no reason to upgrade and no companies would try to....that is Bill Gates vision of the future, with all capabilities built into Windows and the hardware....Linux would die as would all enthusiast markets.....gawd i hope i never see that day

He paid someone to copy DOS using a CPM manual
He copied the GUI for Win3.x from Mac
Internet Explorer came to be because of Netscape
Office came out because of WordPerfect and Lotud 123
Bill Gates has foreseen very little accurately

In his book in 1995 that was supposed to predict computer technology advancement he failed to mention the internet revolution, this topic was only discussed in a later edition of it...frankly what Bill Gates forsees should never see the light of day....when Bill Gates has his way, technology will cease to advance

Bah, that wouldn't be fun . Plus, like funnyperson1 said... nothing would advance... companies would have no reason to advance technology, it's the competition that keeps it going. I wouldn't want that anyway, too boring.

YES!.....a Radeon8500 is far better than a TNT2...even in a PIII...the system is not the problem...that system will play any game out there for a long time...the TNT2 however started showing its age in Max Payne, and with every subsequent game release has grown even more slow and unplayable.....upgrade to a good video card and GTA3 and other graphics intensive games will become VERY fun

i believe that the very crappiest card to buy right now is a gf3 ti 200, i still have a tnt2 on my secondary rig lol

acctually the TI200 arn't that bad. I have one and it will run anything that I throw at it.

why would you say that? a Ti200 with a little overclockage can run anything a Ti500 or 8500 can.....i would recommend an 8500 but some people just dont like Ati.....

I just tried playing Battlefield 1942 with my Geforce 2 Ti and I couldn't do it. And the graphics didn't even look that demanding. On my friends rig it runs smooth as silk with his Ti4400 and the graphics actually kind of suck. I have been playing Nevewinter Nights and it runs just finee on my comp, and the graphics look really really good, much much better then BF:1942. So I can play all the games I want right now, so no need for a new video card for me, until Doom3 comes out.

BF 1942 also slows my comp at times with an OCed XP1800 and GF4200. The graphics engine is just written poorly and doesnt look that good.

The NOVALOGIC "Commanche" engine also sucks *** and doesnt really look that good IMO. The one Nova had before Commanche for the "Delta Force" series was not only a resource pig but painful to look at. It choked my Pent 920 and GF2 GTS at 800X 600.

OTOH ....Jedi Knight 2 looks great and runs great on my current comp and even my old pent 920 gf2 GTS.
