Its been a LONG time since ive posted on this board, but I think this is worthy to bring me back.

Just bought a throw away emachines and after a few updates and this and that this 3.2 Cedar Mill is running@

4257.7mhz

177.4fsb!!

Not bad for 200 bucks with 17" monitor and printer.....

Idle @ about 42 and load ~ 55... stock cooling!!

Those particular steppings / revisions are excellent for overclocking. I found that they do like to collect lots of heat though. I own the one step up 356 model, and I undervolted it to 1.21 vcore and its running at 4.5ghz. I haven't even tried testing it because cooling needs to get upgraded.

I see lots more in that chip. I'd say 5.0ghz+.

Well unfortunately I cant change the voltage because as I said this is just a junker emachines.

Are there any software programs out there yet to change voltage?

What are some decent cheap hsf's for this thing? (Im an AMD guy so I have no idea.)

You might be able to pad mod the CPU for more defalt Vcore.
You would need to check the white papers, pad mods for C2D have recently been published at VRzone but these little celly's probibly don't have the same intrest right now. In other words, the first people doing it will need to do there own homework ;)
I might grab the white paper link for you.
here you go..
