Yesterday I setup my watercooling system on my A7A 266 & T-Bird 1.2 gig. Now at first the temps started out around 39c then they got as high as 51c at one time. This is strictly in the bios. Are these accurate? From what I've read theres a 10c difference in actuall temp. But I'm not sure. I'm using bios v. 1004.

Also when I tried booting the system up it kept giving me "Invalad system disk errors" Then those went away and it would start to boot up and then stop with a regesty error. I ended up having to format and reinstall. Not sure why that happened. I know WinME can be very picky about hardware changes. Especially if you have system restore disabled.

Well needless to say i'm running my old stuff right now yet. I'm still working on putting the watercooling setup inside the case before I totally get it going. I just wanted to give it a little test run. All that was hooked up to the computer was:Enermax 431w psu, Radeon 64 DDR, 256mb's ram PC133, Maxtor 20gig HD. Thats it (& k-board & mouse of course).

One more thing. On my cpu it looks as if all the L1 bridges are closed. But in the bios it would not allow me to change the multiplier? Can you only change it via dip switches?

I'm new to the AMD side of things. Always ran intel till now. So I'll need all the help I can get.

Good to hear you got your stuff!

For changing the multiplier this is what you have to do. You have to set the dip switches (10) to what multiplier you want. THATS IT! Do not set anything else! Then set the jumper for jumperless. Then you can set the fsb from the bios, and the multipler from the dips.

My A7A266 has that bug too. BTW : if you want to change your voltage, you have the set the jumper under the jumper for the bios, to the right side. Both of the jumpers should be on the right side.

Try a regular heatsink and fan and then try reinstalling windows n stuff. Could be the watercooling setup isn't running correctly.

My temps in the bios are 52C idle 56C Load @ 1007mhz 155fsb X 6.5 on my Duron 750.

So basically i just figure that is really 42Cidle, and 46C Load.

GOOD LUCK!

Well, thats sounds about right then. The highest it got was 51c, so that should be about 41c. I can live with that for now. I just wanna get it all going then I'll start fine tuning everything. Sucks though. I wont get time to get it up and running till this weekend at the earliest.

Thanks for the reply.

I have a 1.33ghz AYHJA Y with a a7a266. I have heard that they come factory unlocked but when I go to my bios I can change everything except the multiplier. Before I started this, I set manual for my voltage settings and manual cpu speed which I was told I had to do. I did what bdf24 was told to do with the jumpers. I put it on jumpermode and disababled VID(my mobo didn't even come with a jumper on that). Do I need to set my 1-4 dip switches on the correct cpu/sdram because when I set it for 133/133, it showed that it was 90mhz. I then turned on put switches 6 and 7(set's multiplier to 9) and it showed that in the bios and my cpu speed at like 810mhz. It wouldn't let me change the voltage, FSB or much of anything else.
