it looks like the x600 has a faster core but the x800 has faster memory. im goin with an lga 775 board, so the x600 is my best choice for graphics card and it dosnt look like there is much, if any performance loss versus the x800.

edit: the x600 only comes with 128 mb ram :/

Ya there is quite a performace loss, and PCI-E for todays games are kinda worthless. I'm not sure but do those PCI-E boards have AGP8x slot too?

well, the lower quality boards do.... where do u see the performance loss?

is there any kind of agp adapter u can get? ;)

The x600XT is in NO way better than the x800pro, period. If you are looking at the higher clocks, then you are being fooled. Look at the higher clocks on the 9600pro and look at the lower ones on the 9800pro, I wonder which one is better.

EDIT: NO, it does not have anywhere near 16pipes, not the x600XT. The x800XT has 16, x800pro has 12, while the x600 either has 4 or 8 (which I doubt).

I think the point of pci-e is not that it is faster, its just that it will become th standard. That way, you can buy a pci-e board and be good to go with vid card upgrades for a while.
