I was curious why amd doesn't have a x870e chipset driver on there site. I only see x670e and I guess I can only get the x870e one from Mobo website ? Does the x670e one on amd site work on x870e or no? Thanks

It does, yes. Used it on 3 boards so far.

I wonder why it's like that . I thought different chipset needs different driver..

There is an AMD chipset package that includes all modern chipsets. Graphics card drivers are also in one package for multiple GPUs. As long as it's one of the latest packages, it will work on X870/E chipsets.

I'm not quite sure what you mean ... Are you saying the latest x670e one will work on x870e

There is no separate driver for each chipset. AMD makes packages that include multiple chipset drivers in one. Some parts are shared. If you install the latest package, which is described as the X870E driver, then it will include all 600 series chipsets, too, like B650/E or X670/E. The latest X670E package will work on the X870E chipset. The package also searches for compatible components (typically 5 or 6 of them), so it will tell you during the installation if it supports any new chipset or not. Windows device manager will tell you if anything is missing.
As EarthDog already said, and I also checked on my X870E mobo, current packages for 600 series chipsets work on the 800 chipset series. If I'm right, the latest Win11 version also installs the latest chipset drivers. It was updating something when I switched from B650E to X870E, but I don't remember if everything was on the list. I still installed the whole AMD package later.
