xbox >linksys router> cox >lag!!!

my brother just got a xbox live setup witch was easy enogh since i already wired the house for my 2 computers and my dads laptop

however hes getting alot of lag and i am thinking of ways to help speed things up


one of the things i was thinking of was mabey doing port forwarding or ip forwarding so that anything that came in from the xbox servers would just do directly to the xbox


do you think this would have any effect on speed or is it wishfull thinking

anyother suggestions you can think of are welcome.

What game(s) is he lagging on? Make sure P2P stuff is off.

i don't think port fowarding will work, as the router should already be sending the packets directly to the XBOX.

yea my parents dont p2p much

i also did a indepth virus scan and adware search

make sure nothing was eating up bandwith

its ghost recon i belive but mech warrior seems laggy to
