Greetings, I recently purchased a XFX GeForce FX 5900 128MB off of newegg (retail, good deal for 190$ :D). I ran 3dmark 03 and got 5367 which is pretty damn good for 190$, the only thing is, I thought this card was clocked at 400mhz core...it says in my 3dmark score it's at 300mhz =\ . I downloaded PowerStrip to double check and its at 300 in that app too. Anyone have ideas? My sig is below, ignore the ATI card, its being used on another sys.

Thanks for the help :D

I can't say for certain, but the 5900 has two memory settings. The 1st, for 2D, is much slower. The default is 300mhz. The second, for 3D, defaults to 400mhz.

Are you sure that 3DMark & Powerstrip aren't reading the 2D setting?

FWIW the XFX is a great card for $190 - I've had mine up to 475/950 w/o a hitch on stock volts & cooling (I've backed it down to U speeds 450/900).

If you use CoolBits you can change/read the freq's in the Nvidia control panel.

yeah, 3dmarks reports the 2d core speed on FX cards, not the 3d speed, my 5900U is reported at a 301 core on 3d marks, the core is running at 560 when it's running the benchmark though.
