Right now I've got a A7v333 R 1.02 and my temps are high partly because you're not supposed to run a XP-M-2600 on it. My V-core is stock @ 1.45v, My 350W PSU is laying down its 12V rail just fine. My socket temps are fine at 30c and my Ambient temp is 26c-29c. However the CPUs diode temp is running a bit on the warm side. I'm thinking of upgrading partly to keep the temps down and partly because I want to overclock a bit more. Right now I'm running 12.6x166(fsb). Oh yeah IDLE I'm at 49c and LOADED 59c. I've narrrowed it down to 2 choices by reading the forum threads on what MBs go good with this CPU and it seems like the A7N8Xe-Deluxe and NF7 V2 are my choices. Which one should I get and why? My ram is 2x512mb corsair value select pc3200. For cooling I've got a all copper Zalman running AS5.

My personal Favorite is the Nf7-s version 2 Link it has more voltage options than you need and there are mucho Mods
for further increases in voltages, I was able to squeek 2750 from my Mobile 2600, you will find that temps will vary somewhat depending on bios version used( There are many of those aswell) but dollar for dollar it's the most stable Socket 462 board I have ever had bar none!! Hope that helps your decision.

i also vote for the abit Nf7 v2.0 that thing rocks. only problem i had with it was the SATA drivers when installing windows, but its a quick and easy fix.

just load the floppy that abit gives you and press f6 during windows installation, and when the windows installation asks which driver you want off the floppy, just select the bottom one.

ok... i'v been away for a while but i run an xp-m 2400+ and a7v333 as listed in my sig and i'v never heard anything about not running xp-m's on it... could u refer me to some more info on this? my temps have been kinda high but not out of controle....

EDIT: oops sorry for digging up a kinda old thread... but my questions still stand

well, as far as temps go, the NF7-s tends to have higher readings, but really, you can't trust motherboard readings anyway. Abit says their temps are correct, and everyone else reads too low. It's a great board, by the way. A lot of us stubborn socket A people refuse to switch, becuase it's been so good to us.

NF7-s has been very good to me too, I'm not wanting to switch anytime soon. my board does 2.5 GHz without breaking a sweat. It could do more but the south Florida heat is just to much. Its like overclocking in an oven. Ambient temps are just to high.
