just now unpacking them...and as always with FedEx...something is damaged.

My subwoofer :( It has a pretty big dent, but it's in the mesh part so I don't think anythings that damaged. But still...

Bass is pushed out pretty well, but I liked the wired remote with the bass control with the Creative 2.1 set I had for a short period so I could adjust it on the fly, but it's not a big deal to access it on the sub box.

And for people who has this setup; is it just me, or are the rear speakers very quiet? Is there something I can do to make them louder. I can hear it, but just bearly.

Base is awesome, quality is awesome, they are kick *** speakers. As far as the rear speakers not being loud enough... I am not sure, I either dont notice it or i dont have that problem. Maybe you have them too far back, experiment with them and see what you can come up with.

<3 for z-640s. First off, the sub is supposed to have a dent in the front mesh, if it is exctally in the center and perfectly round, then thats how they all come, otherwise, that sucks but i is probly fine.

The rear speakers may not be pluged into the right spot. I had a similar problem. Try plugging the black minijack into the orange plug and the orange into the black. Also, try messing with driver settings. When i turn on dolby surround encoding on my nf7-s i have that problem, that, i think, is the actual cause, the swaped minijacks was another problem. These things were a pain to setup but they sound great and are sweet for the price.

oh yeah the bass is decent but at higher volumes it cant do much, part of this is the location (the middle of the finished basement isnt the best place to ressonence) but its not bad for the price at all.

Oh yeah, I know about that normal circular dent, but this one is a line going at an angle to the outline frame of the mesh. And I tried something I saw on here, about changing the black to yellow, but it didn't help any. So i'll try that link. Thanks.

*EDIT* Ok, that didn't work :( And it's really weird. When I use the speaker test, 2 of the speakers are in the right locations, everything else is mixed up, and when I click on the rear speakers, I can hear them loud and clear, so I know it's not the speakers being borked, but when I do the surround sound test thingy, I can't hear them. It like, forces them into a 3.1 combo. I tried switching every wire combination I could find, and still nothing :( This is really irritating me. By the way, i'm using the Onboard AC97 sound chip
